Library News March 31-April 6, 2008

IS SOMETHING MISSING IN YOUR LIFE?

It's Spring Cleaning Time at the library.  If you've lost a set of keys, a jacket, a cell phone, or any other treasures, please check our lost and found.  We even have abandoned textbooks!

We will be donating everything that isn't claimed on April 10th.

BABY SIGN TIME

Unlock the secrets of your preverbal child with this structured program.  Babies can learn to communicate at as young as seven months- long before their voices and mouths are developed enough to talk.  Limit: 50 adults and children total.  Every other Tuesday.   Next class: April 1st at 2:00-2:30 p.m.

VOLUNTEER

The library always needs an extra set of hands.  Would you have a couple of hours a week to help keep the shelves neat or get the new bestsellers ready for circulation?  Volunteer orientation is Thursday, April 3rd from 10am until 6pm.   Come find out what you can do to help.

JOIN A STEERING COMMITTEE

Committee Open House:  April 8th at 6:30pm.  Come to the library and meet the trustees, managers, and staff from our new steering committees.  This is your chance to BE HEARD!  The committees are technology, public relations, collection, finance, personnel, facilities, and programming.

EARTH DAY IS APRIL 22

All during the month of April, library programs will focus on Earth-Friendly practices.  Every Wednesday we will have Wacky Science at 5pm and Arts & Crafts at 6pm with an ecology theme.  Please remember that children under 8 cannot attend Wednesday evening programs without an adult.

Wacky Science this week will study air quality.

Arts & Crafts this week will decorate reusable canvas bags.  We have the paint and brushes, but participants MUST provide their own bag.
